Now that we have been here a couple of months we have explored the neighborhood we have found some of our favorite places to places to eat in walking distance!
Liquids and Solids – www.liquidsandsolids.ca/east-hastings/ – 901 East Hastings Street
The “warm your soul” kind of soups are available here are. From their delicious clam chowder to a filling chilli. Pair it with a Sweet and Sassy Moo (free range roast beef on a baguette) you’d be hard pressed to finish this meal, but you will because its so delicious! They have a wide variety of wraps, sandwiches and pot pies and are literally across the street.
Strathcona Beer Company – www.strathconabeer.com – 895 East Hastings Street
We couldn’t be luckier to have these guys as our neighbors to the left! You will keep coming back to them for their variety of delicious craft beers and gourmet pizza pies, served in a fun and warm atmosphere. Be careful trying their Lemon Mandarin Radler, Beach. It quickly becomes a summer favorite!
Yolks – www.yolks.ca – 1598 E Hastings Street
I don’t think I’ve every been here without standing in a lineup out the door, but the wait is always worth it, and not as long with the new patio seating! From a melt in your mouth Eggs Benedict, fresh squeezed orange juice, to our favorite, Chicken and Waffles, there is a reason we keep coming back for more. And that’s really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what they have to offer.
Crème de la Crumb – www.cremedelacrumb.com – 1215 Clark Drive
Crème de la Crumb makes mouth watering sandwiches and gourmet sandwich wraps. They also have a catering side to their business, so if you wanted to hold a conference at Makeshift Workspace, then you know one of the places you can go. Just a quick walk over to Clark and you won’t be disappointed.
Axum – www.axumrestaurant.ca – 1279 East Hastings Street
Axum is a family owned operation that is Ethiopian fare. If you are looking for soul food, this is the place to visit. Authentic dishes that will keep you coming back for more, in a cozy setting. So if you are looking for something a little different over lunch visit Axum.
